Aman - you have written about the difference between the use of 'have,' as an auxiliary (helping) verb in tenses such as the present perfect tense (I have gone) and compared this with the use of 'have,' in the expression 'I have got,' as a way of showing ownership or possession of something. However, we also use 'I have,' (without the got) to show possession - it is exactly the same in meaning (in that context) as I have got. My assumption was that this was the question that Dmitry was asking ... he most probably already knows that we use have as an auxiliary verb.

Effectively, there is no difference in the context that you are probably talking about: I have a cat = I have got a cat.

Aman - you have tried to explain the difference between the use of 'have,' as an auxiliary (helping) verb in tenses such as the present perfect tense (I have gone) compared to the construction 'I have got (something).' But we also use 'I have,' in English to mean exactly the same thing as 'I have got.' My guess was that Dmitry already knows that we use have as an auxiliary verb and that he was asking about the difference (which does not exist) between 'I have,' and 'I have got,' to denote the possession of something.
