Your English is quite good, but it seems you are very uncomfortable speaking. I have two suggestions - 1) you can find find a language partner on italki who speaks English and wants to learn Chinese, or 2) you can find a community tutor (they usually cost less than an accredited teacher) to practice your speaking skills. The best way is to talk and be confident. English is not your native language, isnt it? So why are you afraid? Listen and try to grasp the accent, write and read.. Listen to BBC and watch movies in british and american accent. Don't be afraid even in the UK people have different accents like irish is quite different from rest. Chat, speak and do not get ashamed. Believe in your self, study and be confident. You will find your self where you want to be. Cheers, Dr. Tj

My advice for you is to read BBC news, and watch TED Talks with subtitles. There you will improve your reading, listening and speaking skills, because you'll find good english (when i mean good english is related to theses texts that are well writen). And besides that, try to communicate with many people as possible to put it to practice!

Hi, How are you I hope you been doing good. I have the same problem and am afraid from talking with foreigners. When I am talking through chatting programs like WhatsApp or other text messages applications it is easy for me but the problem when am going to talk, maybe there is one deference between us is that where I'm living there is no people using the English language but maybe in China there is more, and one more thing is that I'm 35 years old. There is something maybe you will benefit if you kept in your mind and thought about it is that you have to forget about your native language and don't try to translate then talk, you have to learn how to think in English, talk to your self first when you are alone and no one is talking to you. If you want to learn how to increase your Knowledge about vocabulary and how to use your words it's a little bit difficult because you have to learn more about the English culture and literature and this will come from reading and traveling, so If you have the time don't waste it and make every second is useful by reading the stories or anything else. Hi Pentagle. I am learning Spanish, and the best thing for me was listening to radio online out of Madrid. So you might search for a radio online from London or New York City and listen to it daily. The DJs speak clearly because that is their job. They will speak at the pace of a native and will use slang and phrases typical to the area. I listen all day while at work and I keep a notebook beside my laptop and write down little things here and there. Sometimes I'll have questions and then I'll ask a native speaker. Also, don't be afraid to talk to native speakers. Talk to them and ask them to correct you. They won't want to correct you , though, unless you ask. Good luck! Nicolas
