a question about 'sturdy'
does 'sturdy' have to imply 'short'? can I use sturdy to discribe a tall and strong man? why people say giraffes have especially long and sturdy front legs?

Sturdy just means strong.
Yes you can use it to describe a tall, strong man.
Assuming the front legs of giraffes are typically strong, it's OK to call them sturdy.
If I can ask, will you let me / us know where you came to understand that "sturdy" had something to do with length?

I agree with Hose. Sturdy is just another word for strong. I don't think it is connected to height or length.
