How do I write "he is a good man"? I just tried to say "he is a good man" by writing 그는 남자을 좋아요 but I was corrected to say 그는 좋은 남자에요* Why? I thought sentences had to end in either a verb or an adjective? Isn't 남자 a noun? Can someone clear this up for me? (If writing in Kr can you make it simple so I can read it, thank you)

It's because Korean is a Subject-Object-Verb language. English is a Subject-Verb-Object language. so... English: I like Sam Korean: I Sam like or (I) Sam like *with the "I" ommited in the 2nd korean example *in korean "I, he, she , etc " are usually omitted So in Korean you can say "He is a good man" 그는 좋은 사람(입니다)(이에요) or (He is) 좋은 사람(입니다)(이에요) I hope It helped ! ☺

그는 남자을 좋아요 doesn't make sense. 좋아요(좋다) is an adjective and so cannot take a direct object with 을/를. Only transitive verbs can take a direct object, as in 존경하다(respect), 사랑하다(love), etc. 그는 좋은 남자예요 (note 예요. 에요 is an error), is structurally very close to your English sentence. 그는 (he) 좋은 남자(good man)예요(is). 예요 at the end is a conjugated form of the adjective 이다(am, is, are), so the sentence does end with an adjective. 이다 is special in that it equates, or couples("copula") the subject(그) and the complement(좋은 남자). It is the only adjective that directly attaches to a noun without an intervening space. Examples: - 나는 학생이에요 = I am a student. (note 이에요 after a consonant-ending syllable) - 나는 음악을 좋아한다 = I like music. (좋아한다(vt) = like/love)
