In that video, the Japanese man 矢野浩二 was interviewed and spoke in Chinese.
What do you think of his Chinese conversation skills?
Does he sound like a native speaker?

I would say his mandarin skill in this video is about the level of average Cantonese stars who don't actually use Mandarin in daily life or work much. Also, I guess for most Chinese, if listen carefully, would realize he is not a Cantonese speaker.
It's the stress, rhyme, and pronunciation that make him sound non-native.
(Still much better than my English, though. I am not sure if I could reply in English in such fluent way in front of a camera...)
And the Chinese interviewer speaks very fast. doesn't slow down a bit for him. So his listening skill is surely very close to 'native'.

Though he was done quite well as a non-native speaker it's still a little distance away from the natives. He can speak Chinese frequently and did makes a point to ride the vowel but he has some trouble putting his tongue in a right position thus his pronunciation would sounds a bit Japanese-style.

Hi, thanks for sharing this video. It's funny when he answering the last question. hahaha
I think the way he talks is almost native. The tempo, the words, and the speed are all great.
The only difference is the pronunciation. We can tell that he is a Japanese without doubt.
