"Valuation" is a financial term, rarely used in common speech. Maybe the 'valuation of stocks.'
An evaluation can mean either a type of test, "The student completed the evaluation." Or a judgement by one person of another person's abilities. "The boss's evaluation of his new employee was not positive."

A valuation is an estimate of the value of something.
An evaluation is a judgement about something's power, value, compliance, suitability etc.
A valuation usually is less rigorous than an evaluation.

valuation is used a fair bit in normal language but refers to money rather than a general measure or worth as erika says.
