Allow me a parting gift Hello! This is from Blade: Trinity, an American movie about vampires. Blade was born half human, half vampire. He has all the strengths of a traditional vampire and none of the weaknesses except for the thirst for blood. He dedicated his life to exterminating all of them. In the movie a group of lesser vampires resurrect Dracula, the first vampire, and tries to create a new, more powerful kind of vampire using his blood. However, Blade stops them and defeats Dracula. Dying Dracula: "Funny, isn't it? All this time, my people were trying to create a new kind of vampire, when one already existed. I don't need to survive. The future of our race rests with you. You fought with honor. I respect that. ALLOW ME A PARTING GIFT. But remember this: sooner or later, the thirst always wins." Could you please explain to me what "allow me a parting gift" means in the given context? What does he call a parting gift?

A parting gift is something you give to somebody when you or they leave. The speaker is asking permission to give (or, conceivably, receive) such a gift. There is no sign of such a gift in the text you have provided, maybe it is discussed later or it is shown visually instead.

Drake gives him a "parting gift" by transforming his body into a replica of Blade's just before he dies. The FBI captures the body of who they think is Blade and thus call off their manhunt for Blade.
