"they had been receiving" or "they are receiving"? Which is correct in this context?
Hi friends,
Which is correct? "they had been receiving from the Head Office" or "they are receiving from the Head Office"? This is an observation which I am going to include in a report.
1) When queried about the support and guidance receive from the Head Office, the HR team at the plant said that they were satisfied with the support and guidance that they had been receiving from the Head Office.
2) When queried about the support and guidance receive from the Head Office, the HR team at the plant said that they were satisfied with the support and guidance that they are receiving from the Head Office.
Thanks in advance!

Both are correct = 'are' suggests that the support is currently happening.
'Had been' talks only about the support that they have already received.
It depends on what you wish to talk about - the current support, or the past support.

First I think it should be "...guidance received from the Head Office" and not receive.
After that , since the question is in the past tense, according to me the best sentence is :
"When queried about the support and guidance received from the Head Office, the HR team at the plant said that they were satisfied with the support and guidance that they had received from the Head Office."
