Hi! I have to agree with Rafael Augusto in his explanation for "Aspirar" but unfortunately i don't think "wish" is the best... There is a similar word in english for aspirar, and is "to aspire"...it is very close to wish, but it envolves more action from your part in achieving the goal, the wish. So saying this I would go for : Can we aspire for sustained growth?

"...can we expect sustained growth?" - I don't agree with this translation - "expect", as far as I now, is when you know there's a possibility of something happening. I think the Portuguese for "expect" would be more "esperar". "Aspirar" has a physical meaning - to breath in air, but also another meaning - to wish something, to have a dream, to want something - "Aspiro ser médico" - "I want to be a doctor". So, I would say "Can we wish for sustained growth?" - which is probably a rethorical question, since sustained growth is considered a positive thing, and it's obvious that everybody "aspira" positive things.
