can you say "fix the news" in this situation? For example, when a false news is out to public and they later fix it and saying that it's wrong and give the new truth. Do we say fix the news? Is there a phrase for this? E.g. Many newspapers fixed the news for the previous publish. Thank you.

"fix the news" doesn't sounds very natural to me. Correct sounds like a much appropriate choice. Correct is used when something that is WRONG is changed to become RIGHT. - All newspapers should verify their sources and correct their mistakes. Fix is used more when an object (bike, car, etc) is in a bad state (ie, broken, not working, bad condition) and it is improved. - I need to fix my bike (the bike is broken) News cannot be broken or not working. It's simply not telling the truth. I hope this helps you!
