Is correct to use "bump into" for things?
Hi friends,
Is it correct to use "bump into" with things, as given below. If not, how would you say it?
While taking a walk, James bumped into a pillar and hit his head against it.
Thanks in advance!

.
bump into - is soft, not implying any damage, so it's not always a natural for a guy walking into a lamppost.
.
Blindfolded as he was, he bumped into the table, three chairs and the sofa but it was triiping over the coffee table that took him down.

Note: You can also bump something directly. “I bumped my head.” “I bumped my head on the ceiling in the basement “ And you can separate “bump” and “into”. “I bumped my car into his garage door”
