He's enjoying the sounds and sights of nature. I'm pretty sure it's a red-winged blackbird. Very common in the United States in wetlands, ponds, and marshy areas. You often see them perched up in the grass, or on cattails (tall grass-like plants with something like a hot dog on top). They make a kind of wonderful sound that is often written as "konk-la-REEEEE." It might be a type of bird, such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redwing Although that bird appears to be European, and the song appears to be American. Perhaps it is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red-winged_blackbird instead? Nasty greedy Google are getting more and more useless. When they cared about being helpful, they would give you that information near the top of the list. Now you have to wade through dozens of links to shoes, and businesses in a similarly named city...
