What does caso mean in the last sentence?
Cada persona en la familia tiene pelo diferente. El de mi papá se para en el aire como escoba. Y yo, el mío es flojo. Nunca hace caso de broches o diademas.
It's from the book La Casa en Mango Street.

Hello, in Spanish, the expression "hacer caso" can have two meanings. One is to obey. The other one is pay attention to someone. Here are some examples:
A mother telling her child "Debes hacerle caso a tu maestra!" which would mean "You must obey your teacher!" you could also translate it to "You must listen to your teacher!" but in the sense that you must obey her and listen to her instructions, or comply with whatever she says.
A girl telling a friend "Él ya no me hace caso." meaning "He doesn't pay attention to me anymore."
So in the case of the sentence you want to translate, it means that the hair of the speaker doesn't pay attention to hair accessories, or doesn't care about hair accessories, the hair just does what it wants.
