How to use ''further'' I don't know the meaning of ''further'' very much. Here is the example. '' The bar graph categorizes the ownership information further by five levels of education from in 2002 and 2010.'' What's the meaning of ''further'' in this sentence? It means ''in detail''? Also I would appreciate if you give me some examples using further. Thank you :)

Hi Mai, “In more detail” is a pretty good substitute for your example. I think there are some differences in usage between British and American English. Americans would be more likely to use “farther” when talking about distances, but in this example only “further” works. Many cities don’t enforce vagrancy laws. Some have gone further and removed those laws from the books. By the way, it’s not good English to say “I don’t know the meaning of ‘further’ very much” you could say I don’t know the meaning of ‘further’ I don’t understand how to use ‘further’ I don’t think I understand this use of ‘further’ I don’t understand ‘further’ very well. I’m not sure I understand this use of ‘further’ Could someone explain the meaning of ‘further’ in this sentence? I could use some help in understanding the meaning of the word ‘further’
