Médecins Sans Frontières or Doctors Without Borders? Which of these options is the most used in English?

I've always heard the French name used in British English news media and general conversation. I'd expect most people to understand what it means, but sometimes people add an explanation of what it means.I'm interested to note the comment from Matthew (above). It's entirely possible that it is different in different English speaking countries.

In the US - "Doctors Without Borders" (I've heard "MSF" and it's on their literature, but it's generally referred to by the English translation of the name.)

My reaction was the same as Chris Tooze's - I was surprised to read Matthew's comment above. I have only ever heard of this organisation with its official French name, Médecins Sans Frontières. I've never come across the translation into English.

Hi LK. Doctors without Borders is way more common. I'd say that most won't even understand MSF. Hope this helps!
