What is the concept of “문치”? Hi Everyone, I was reading an article (in English) about intercultural communication, and the author uses the example of 문치 (he wrote it like “munch’i”) in Korean culture. I’ve tried Googling it, but I’m still a little confused as to what it actually means. Unfortunately, my Korean language skills are not nearly high enough to understand the pages in Korean, and the translations are confusing. Any help would be massively appreciated. 감사합니다!

문치 means the concept of scholarship politic. At the age of Joseon dynasty, the scholarship (especially Confucianism) was regarded as main political idea. More exactly without abbreviation, formally, 문치주의 is correct expression.
