Children's record, "Pedro in Brazil." Are the songs on this record inspired by anything Brazilian?
When I was a child, my parents bought me a phonograph record entitled "Pedro in Brazil: Pedro Goes to a Carioca Festival." I was pleased to find it is available on YouTube and I enjoyed listening to it again for the first time in many decades.
I am curious to know: is there anything authentic about it--apart from some place names (Bahia and Pernambuco) and a "Latin flavor" in the music? Is there really a "Carioca Festival?" Are the songs (in English) based on real folk tunes?
In particular, does the riddle song 4:25 minutes in, at

resemble any Brazilian folk song?
("What's the difference between my hat, and a king's heavy crown of gold?
The king gets a headache in his hat, while mine keeps out the cold.")
