A patron is "a person who gives financial or other support to a person, organization, cause, or activity."
-The museum depended on the patrons for financial stability.
Patronage is what a patron does: "the support given by a patron."
-The museum depended on the patronage of the donors to fund the educational programs.

Patron is a person who gives support by making donations. It is always a singular person or organisation, unless specifically sated in cases where two or more people/persons organisations might make joint donations. This is a little rare, and they would individually be referred to as patrons.
A patronage is the donation(s) that an individual or charitable organisation gives to others or charities.
