Don't play me. VS Don't play with me.
I hear native speakers say 'Don't play me' when someone else is trying to lie to them.
But I only can find the phrase 'play with (someone)' in dictioinaries.
Technically, 'play (someone)' is incorrect? Any different nuance with or without 'with'?

To play somebody is trying to trick somebody into doing what you want or into believing to what you say.
To play with somebody is just as it is, like to play a game of chess or a video game.
