Meaning of One Sentence (V듯이)
Hello.
Could someone please help me understand the meaning of "듯이" in the following sentence:
잘 알고 있듯이, 어린아이들은 치명적이다.
I know "잘 알고 있다" is "know well" and "어린아이들은 치명적이다" is "children are deadly/fatal".
So I'm assuming the meaning of the entire sentence is something like "As everyone knows well, children are deadly."
I looked up and read that 듯이 is used to mean "like" or "as if". However, I don't quite understand the meaning of 듯이 here.
If someone could please (1) give me the meaning of the whole sentence and (2) explain why 듯이 is used here, I would appreciate it :)
