in the sentence below, Is my guess correct :the "get washed (or were washed)" here = the " washed
The sentence is:
People slip and fall all the time and get washed into the sea.

You could either use 'get' or 'are'.
Both are present simple passive voice. 'Get' is less impersonal and more informal.
