Does "gen(1) ni(3)" in Chinese mean "With you"? Or do I have to say "gen(1) ni(3) yi(1)qi(3)? "
Does "gen(1) ni(3)" in Chinese mean "With you"? Or do I have to say "gen(1) ni(3) yi(1)qi(3)? " Doesn't the latter mean "Along with you"-- similarly if I want to ask "With who?" can I just say "Gen(1) shei(2)"?

Gen ni - 跟你 means with you
Gen shei - 跟誰 means with whom
Gen ni yi qi -跟你一起 means with you together
Using 跟? alone, it's understood, 一起 (together) is optional.
