In the lyrics of the song "my heart will go on" by Celine Dion, I found the following text: - "Love can touch us one time and last for a lifetime. And never let go 'til we're gone." I wonder if the intended meaning is "to be in contact with" but in a figurative way as meaning "love can arrive in our lives..." A second meaning could be "to affect you emotionally". As for this second meaning, I have seen people use it mainly when they find out about something. So according to that, the second meaning would not fit into the text of the lyrics.
