Start with how your name is pronounced in your language. From there, you can get better ideas for an English name. For example, we had a fellow student named Zhang, so we called him John. Another student was named Lui Hui so we called her Louise.

I read a really interesting article on this a while ago, but I can't find it, sorry!
It had a few important tips like:
- Translating your own name sometimes doesn't work well.
- Some names that sound normal in Chinese sound very unusual to English speakers when translated.
- MOST IMPORTANTLY ask an English speaker about the chosen name before you adopt it. They will tell you if it sounds strange, or has another meaning that you might not realise (and might not want). These meanings can be subtle, so be careful.
I have a few Chinese friends and some of them have chosen not to take an English name and find that using their actual name works fine for them in the UK. English speakers are getting (a bit) better at pronouncing names these days - I think. You might just want to keep your own name :)

Like Kennedy, I feel like Lana is a good name. I also thought about Gigi because your name has “zhi”
