This means to push something to the side or out of the way.
Literally:
"He shoved the woman aside and went up to the bank teller to cash his check without waiting his turn."
Figuratively:
"They shoved that problem aside to work on a more serious one."
A related phrase is "put aside."
"Let's put aside our differences and work together."
