Do you mean prostitution? Hmm, I know it is the oldest job ever. The most ancient one. Of course it's not nice when someone is forced to it, but doesn't seem that bad when someone has to earn their lives by it: For example being a housewife who thinks relying on her husband for living is "natural", by apparently selling her affection to him. I can also say the same for people who try to "rob" their ex-spouse of everything of monetary value after divorce. Which means they want the payment for their past moments of love. I don't know if this is too harsh, but this is what I think. A prostitute and a courtesan are different things, a courtesan also sells her affection and attention in addition to sex, and earns her life from one man, and is supposed to be more professional (and expensive). A prostitute only has sex and has no attachment therefore no need to show interest in her customer. Sexual desire being highly repressed by society and the need for ego boost is what I think to be the factors contributing to the problem of prostitution. Unlike what is thought by the majority, having a sexual encounter with a prostitute is not supposed to release the sexual need of any man, for the need is not physical only but also emotional. Men who are made to think it is natural are, in my opinion, victims of the society, for they tend to lose self respect and empathy for other men in the end. There is also an economical aspect of the problem, that Cambodia and Thailand are famous spots for cheap prostitution (including child prostitution and boys forced to prostitute) is a shame for the "tourists" (I don't mean everyone!) who go there.
