Between describes a position somewhere in the middle of 2 things.
e.g. The Post Office is between the supermarket and the bank.
e.g. Let's keep it a secret between the two of us.
Among describes a position surrounded by a larger number of things.
e.g. We had a picnic among the trees (Trees were all around us)
e.g. You are among friends (you have friends all around you)
