"Crash" is usually used when there is an accident
Example(clash): The clash between the two temperatures created the lightning you saw last night.
"Clash" is usually used when there is frictions between objects or people

Most Japanese speakers have a problem with the letter "R". watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLXIAYTIZVU
For "a" and "e" and "u", they often can sound similar. So in American english, many words that have an "A" ( the vowel sound is called a "short A" ), we make the "A" sound more clear by opening our mouth wider and making the sound more open.
With an "L", the tip of the tongue moves forward and touches the back of the upper teeth.
With the "R", the tongue curves upwards and inwards, and does not touch the teeth.
