What is the difference between "Modify" and "revise" ? Thank you

Modify:
1- to change sth slightly, especially in order to make it more suitable for a particular purpose
synonym = adapt
2- to make sth less extreme
synonym =adjust

Revise :
1- to change your opinions or plans, for example because of sth you have learned
examples:
I can see I will have to revise my opinions of his abilities now.
The government may need to revise its policy in the light of this report.
2- to change sth, such as a book or an estimate, in order to correct or improve it.
examples :
a revised edition of a textbook
I’ll prepare a revised estimate for you.
We may have to revise this figure upwards.

Revise means
1.Make revisions in
"revise a thesis"
2.Revise or reorganize, especially for the purpose of updating and improving
While modify refers to
1.Make less severe or harsh or extreme
"please modify this letter to make it more polite"; "he modified his views on same-gender marriage"3
2.Add a modifier to a constituent
3.Cause to change; make different; cause a transformation

revise= to look at something again and rectify if necessary,
modify= to change something, technical or literal

Modify to upgrade technology, make improvements, make it better.
To revise more used with written txt, thoughts, books etc. To revise to make corrections additions.
