In your country is it all right for a person to wear pajama bottoms as pants in public? It seems strange to me, but I see Americans doing it.

When I was still in high school, I wore pajama pants everywhere I went, but never in bed.

You'll see lot of people wearing pajama in public here in Bali. Not only the locals, but I also see some expats doing it. And not because they're too lazy to dress up in the morning (though some people really lazy to dress up), but maybe more because it's comfortable to wear or maybe they think pajama is just the same thing like when you wear a T-shirt and pant (just a different in name). Even when they wear pajama, that doesn't mean they just got up, they already have shower and even put some make up on. ^_^ You may find lot of people wearing pajama when you go to some traditional market in the morning (but people always wear their best outfit to the mall ^_^) or convenience store near home. I still feel so strange when I see people (guess who?) wearing only bikinis everywhere, on the street or shopping mall (or shops along the street), though both mall and the street are by the sea side. ^_^; I mean... this is Bali, you can wear anything you like, if you can stand people staring at you hehehe. (^_^)V

I work in a newsagents and have seen a couple of people come into the shop in their pyjamas after taking their partners to the station to go to work. I would add that it is not common practice to wear pyjamas in public.

I lived in a residence hall with many foreigners, and I've seen Americans do it. But I've never seen any other foreigners do that. French don't either.
