How to deal with such cases
We all meet different kinds of people in our life. Sometimes I find it's very hard to continue a normal conversation with such a kind of people.
There are two cases, which happened to me.
Case 1. I met a student who studied for his doctor degree. It was the second time I saw him. At that time just we two guys sat in a room for about 2 or 3 minutes. Although we didn''t know each other very well, I tried to talk to him and to find some common things or something we were both interested in. He suddenly responded to me: "We don't have any common."
Case 2. Many guys were in a online chat room. I asked one girl about her location. She just said it was her secret. Then I wanted to make some fun and asked her:"If you don't mind, would you tell me, you from the Earth or Mars?" You know, there is a book named "Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus". Then, suddenly, a guy interrupted very seriously: "Everybody is from the Earth."
I didn't know how to continue the conversation. So, in such awful situations, what will you do, guys?Well, let me tell you guys. The funny thing of the case 1 right after what I mentioned, the guy complained to some other native English speakers that he didn't have a good relation with his colleagues. I didn't tell him why because he didn't ask me.

I agree with Sergey, it's not your problem so don't take it to heart. Just smile and be glad you are not them. :)

Take it easy! You will meet a lot of people in future with whom you'll find it very easy to communicate.

Don't get too upset, sometimes it's just a misunderstanding or there are many people who have no sense of humour at all.
