It was a sunny, beautiful day today. We slept in and had a brunch at home. Then we picked up MeeMaw and headed to the biggest amusement park in our city. Dad was busy taking pictures of us, and everyone was laughing. We had our dinner at an Italian restaurant that serves great soup. We prayed before eating. I hope MeeMaw can forget all the bad memories and only remember the happiness with us. We all love her.

*’we picked up MeeMaw’ is absolutely fine, you don’t have to say ‘picked him/her up’ but a native speaker would probably structure the sentence in that way when talking about a person. For example, as a native speaker j would say: I picked my mum up from the supermarket yesterday, I pick my mum up from work every day….
