what's the difference between "get off me" and "get off of me"

There's no difference in meaning. In formal writing it's better to include the word "of," but in speech (and less formal writing) either version is fine. Many people use both in everyday speech. (I honestly don't know whether I would be more likely to tell my cat to "get off the table" or to "get off of the table." They both sound equally natural to me.)
