Does listening to music help learn a language?
I honestly can’t remember the last word I learned from listening to a music track, but maybe others have had more success?

Absolutely. Listening to music in your target languages may only help a little with vocabulary and grammar, but it's extremely useful for learning pronunciation and intonation.

It's rare I acquire vocabulary from a song, but I do sometimes use songs to help retain vocabulary I've come across elsewhere. If there's a word I think might be difficult to remember, I plug it into youtube. It's amazing how often it turns up in a song, and how well that line from the song sticks in my memory.

When I first started learning spanish in high schools , music in spanish really helped me to learn vocabulary
i was interested to learn the words, what the song was saying etc. And to be honest over 10 years later the songs stick with me.
I will say however as I learn Korean, I don't notice as much help for listening to music.
At the end of the day, I love music and I think if the music motivates you to learn the music then that's great.

Listening to music from great storytellers may help. The American singers from the 1940s and 1950s told stories in their music. Well-written songs were sung by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Elvis Presley.
