my translation of a Chinese fable, please help revise it if there's any mistake A farmer went into a town to sell a donkey and a goat. There was a small bell on goat’s neck. Three thieves have seen them, and one thief said, "I can steal the goat without being found by the farmer." Another said: "I will steal the donkey from the farmer’s hand." The third said: "Both of your jobs are not difficult, but I can steal all clothes on the farmer." The first thief crept closer to the goat. He secretly untied the bell and fastened it to the tail of the donkey, then took the goat away. Looking around in a turning, the farmer found the goat missing, and he started his search. At this time, the second thief walked to the front of the farmer, asked him what to look for. The farmer said he lost a goat. The thief told him, "I have seen a person holding a goat into the forest. You are still able to catch him." The farmer entreated the thief to help him hold his donkey, and then he began running after his goat. The thief took the opportunity of stealing the donkey. Back from the woods, the farmer found the donkey was gone. He walked and cried on the road. As he walked, suddenly, he saw a man sitting at the pond, crying, too. The farmer asked him what happened. The man said, "Somebody asked me to bring a bag of gold to town. I was tired on the way and stopped for a rest at the pond. I unconsciously push the bag into the pond as I was sleeping.” The farmer asked why he didn't get it out. The man replied, “Because I can't swim.I would like give twenty gold ingots to anyone who will help me". The farmer exulted to think that because of the stolen goat and donkey, god is going to bless me with a happy life. Hence, he took off his clothes and dived in the water, but he could find nothing. When he went up, he found his clothes gone as well. It is the third thief that stole his clothes. This is the three traps in one’s life: carelessness, credulousness, and greed.

an introduction of my hometown, please help revise it and make it better Hello, everybody! I'm Sullivan, from China. Today I write something about my hometown, Hangzhou, a city in the eastern parts of China. The content is based on a tourist brochure. I hope you have a chance to go to my hometown. I would love to have you be my guest! And please help me revise it and polish it to make the writing more native. Thanks a lot! Hangzhou: A Paradise on Earth Marco Polo, a well-known Italian traveler, once described his impression of Hangzhou, “It is the most fascinating city in the world. It makes people feel as if they were at paradise.” A Chinese saying goes, “Hangzhou matches the beauty of a paradise.” Hangzhou earns its reputation from the picturesque West Lake. As the West Lake is beautiful all year around, Su Dongpo, a famous poet of Song dynasty(960-1279), compared it to a beauty who looks pretty either in heavy or light make-up. In Hangzhou, you can not only feast your eyes on the charming lake, but have a taste of wonderful dishes and snacks and buy some local specialties when wandering the bustling streets. The West Lake is divided into two parts by Su Causeway and Bai Causeway. They are like two green silk ribbons floating on waters. The West Lake, with rippling water and dense forests around dotted with pavilions and pagodas, is one of the most well-known scenic spots in China. Locals have their own way of appreciating the West Lake. According to them, the West Lake looks much prettier on rainy days than clear days, but it looks prettiest at night. If in Hangzhou, you are strongly recommended to see if the saying holds water. Hangzhou is one of the six famous ancient capitals of China, with a history of over 2,000 years. Apart from its natural scenery, Hangzhou also has traditional culture including the inscriptions and poems by men of letters, delicacies and exquisite handicrafts. Hangzhou is home to silk in China, producing a wide variety of silk, among which brocade is the most popular. Besides, there are specialties like black paper fans, sandalwood fans, parasols and Longjing tea, one of the top ten teas in China. Hangzhou also boast many well-known restaurants serving dishes of different styles and over a hundred guest houses and hotels providing accommodation for tourists. Normally, you are recommended to spend two days visiting the West Lake and nearby tourist attractions. A Hangzhou tour is pleasant and culturally rewarding as well.

it's one of my writing about christmas tree. please help me revise and polish it. Thanks a lot! A Christmas tree is the most indispensable attribute associated with the celebration of Christmas, without which the holiday atmosphere becomes less festive. Many folk legends have grown around the Christmas tree. According to one of the legends, the tradition of decorating an evergreen fir tree at Christmas started in Germany in the 16th century, when Germans took the fir trees home as decoration, which then came to be called Christmas tree. Later, Martin Luthur, a German, attached candles to the fir trees, and lighted them, trying to simulate the reflections of Bethlehem. Nowadays, people replace the candles with little pink lights. Another legend states that once there lived a poor woodsman who found a lost and hungry child in the woods at a snowy night. As it was a Christmas Eve, the woodsman gave him a hearty dinner. The child broke a branch off a tree and made it stick in the ground at their parting. He blessed the woodsman and said, ”May this tree have gifts all over its branches on this day every year. I leave the beautiful tree to thank you for your noble deed.” The woodsman found the branch becoming a little tree when the child left, and he realized that the child was Christ himself in disguise. That story becomes the origin of the Christmas tree. In the West, all families, Christian or non-christian alike, would have a Christmas tree at home to give a holiday feeling. Christmas tree is generally made of evergreen fir trees and is a symbol of eternal life. It is decorated with ornaments like lights, candles, garlands, toys and stars. People enjoy themselves singing and dancing around the Christmas tree.

I have difficulty in understanding below paragraph. I have difficulty in understanding below paragraph. It is about multilateral cooperation from an economic magazine. Question 1 “A return to capital controls should be seen only as a policy of last resort, to be used to dampen excessive exchange rate volatility or to moderate large inflows of capital when other policies, such as interest rates and intervention in foreign exchange markets, prove fruitless.” I wonder the when sentence refers only to moderate or to both dampen and moderate sentences . Do you understand what I mean ? 1) When ……to dampen or to moderate … 2) To dampen …..or when …to moderate Which one is right? Question 2 “But when the sustainability of the sources of finance for global payment imbalances is in doubt, as it is at present, multilateral cooperation to prevent sudden and disorderly market reactions becomes highly desirable, especially if the growing global imbalances create pressure for protectionist trade policies in some countries.” I have two understandings. 1) It creates pressure that these countries have to adopt protectionist trade policies to safeguard itself. 2) The global imbalances badly affect the protectionist trade policies that these countries are currently taking. Which one is right ? Thank you for your answer.
