I'm an American English teacher with many years of experience teaching English. I currently live and have a family in the south of France, where I teach English and Music. I'm also involved with a few different musical projects.
Language is one of my passions. I really love learning new languages, because it introduces me to new ways of thinking and expressing my thoughts, which is something really amazing. I strive to read literature in French and Russian to facilitate my language acquisition. Teaching English is a passion because it allows me to share this with dedicated learners.Mostrar traducción

My method is based on two main things: everyday, or casual English, which we would find in a movie or tv show for example, and fundamentals in context. As someone who has learned foreign languages in both immersive and classroom settings, I understand that it can easily become boring. As a teacher I work very hard to keep it engaging, interesting, fun, and productive.Mis clases y método de enseñanza
My lessons use some excerpts from textbooks, material that I've prepared, and videos online. I like to know my students on a personal level, to know what interests and passions they might have, so that I can tailor the curriculum around media they would be consuming anyway in their native language. I've found that this is the most effective way to keep the lessons productive and fun. I prefer to speak exclusively in English, but if necessary I can explain a complicated grammatical concept in French or Russian.Mi material didáctico

After a two and a half month break, I returned to take lessons with Simon. In addition to him being a great, professional and kind teacher, he is a person with many valuable virtues.

One of the best teachers I've ever met. Simon combines a great understanding of languages and music and this greatly enriches the lesson and the conversations. I benefit a lot from the lessons with Simon.
