Words cannot explain how much I love learning with Nozomi-san. She transformed learning Japanese from a simple interest into something I eagerly look forward to every morning. She is always friendly, easy to talk to and makes you feel very comfortable no matter where in your Japanese learning journey you are. Anytime I have had doubts about how I am progressing, she helps me see that I am getting better little by little. She is quick to adjust to any needs or questions that may arise and we always share a laugh and some fun conversations. Her knowledge is very apparent, and the way she explains concepts is easy to follow and well structured. In my opinion, if you are looking for the best Japanese teacher on italki, you have found her here with Nozomi-san!

Initially I was looking for a teacher in italki to support my Japanese self-study. I had trial lessons with several teachers, but personally Nozomi Sensei suited my learning style the most. I have had 4 sessions so far, so I feel I could provide a more unbiased review. One major point I like about her teaching is how she corrects my speaking and sentence examples respectfully and kindly, with no judgement. Her explanation is easy to understand and whenever I feel confused about some grammar points, she patiently repeats her explanation until I understand. She also likes to go the extra mile at her explanations whenever there are important grammars or vocabularies related to my questions. And lastly, she is a very flexible teacher for a self-taught Japanese learner like me. I have been taking lessons with Nozomi for about a year now and she is great, best teacher on Italki for sure. Very friendly, patient and encouraging. I've come a long way starting from absolutely zero and I certainly I owe a lot of where I am to her teaching style. If you are a person with literally any ability level she can tailor the lesson to you and it will be fun. highly recommend for anyone on this journey to Japanese fluency!

As most of you will agree, learning a new language is a bumpy road. Particularly for self-study. However, thanks to Nozomi's lessons, I feel back on track to make progress. Despite the many mistakes I make, she is very patient and kind as she explains useful vocabulary and grammar to me. In addition to the lessons from the Genki textbook, there is plenty of room for real conversations that are normally difficult to practice in self-study. I feel strengthened to continue studying Japanese. Thank you, Nozomi sensei!

This was my first lesson with Nozomi. I am currently working on improving my conversation skills, and the lesson was a positive experience for me. She gives me time to form my sentences, even if I have to start over several times. But when she notices that I would like some help, she kindly explains words to me or provides corrections.
