Ruri るり

Ruri sensei has honestly helped my confidence so much. For so long I’ve been so scared to learn Japanese despite it being my life goal. As someone with a learning disability I was always scared that I would never be able to become fluent. Ruri sensei not only encourages me but she teaches me in ways that are so easy to understand. You can tell she genuinely cares and wants her students to learn in the most positive environment. I can’t thank her & recommend her enough!!! 🤍

Rurii has been the perfect teacher for me, always helping me learn more, always making the classes fun and interesting, I've learned so much with her and I've been able to break down the language barrier and make Japanese friends and enjoy Japanese media, the kindest teacher I've even come across, with fluency in Spanish, English and of course, Japanese, she taught me Japanese from all of those perspectives,I am truly thankful for all of the effort she's put to help me learn! in my opinion as a teacher she's 10/10 and as a person she is 20/10

I had a great lesson with るり先生 today. We started off class today by going over the homework that I had done a week ago - it was a little long because there was a lot of writing, but I'm really glad that she went over it with me. There was a good amount that るり先生 pointed out to me that I really appreciated because it gave me a chance to think about where else I could be making the same mistake in my own journal writing. I'm glad that she guide me in making the sentences more natural. After reviewing the homework, we finished Lesson 16 in Genki 2. I'm glad that I had a chance to go over this with her because the section in the textbook is very short and doesn't really cover some nuances around the difference between てすみませんでした and てすみません。I'm also grateful that るり先生 covered usage of ごめん, because my assumption before was it was interchangeable with すみません. The other thing that we covered with that was the negative て form, something I feel like I hadn't seen before - happy we went over it!

This was my last class of 2023 with Ruri, and started taking classes with her in February of this same year!! Time flies when you are really comfortable 😊 I've noticed an exponential growth in my Japanese level ever since I started studying with Ruri. Even on days I don't feel very confident with my Japanese, after I take a class with her I feel so much better and super motivated to continue to learn. She also teaches me so many cultural aspects from Japan which I love (understanding the culture that surrounds a language is so important to me). I promise no one would regret trying a class with her, there are very few teachers with her ability!! So so sooo kind, professional, organised and adapts quickly. I feel like I won the teacher lottery with Ruri. 本当にいつもありがとうございます、るり先生 🩵 メリークリスマスと新年あけましておめでとうございます 🎉🎉

I had a great class with Ruri 先生 today! I'm always looking forward to speaking with and continuing to learn Japanese with her. It was fun talking about パン today, it's something that I ended up knowing more about than I thought. It was a fun topic to chat about especially since it's fun to share about places that I've been, I think the toughest part is thinking of how to say the name in Japanese! After speaking practice, we started going over Lesson 17 in Genki 2. I feel like even though the material may seem easy, it's always nice to have Ruri 先生 there to guide me because I'll notice things that I have questions about because I've heard something similar before in media. I feel like if I was just going through the book, sometimes these points and grammar wouldn't be as clear without Ruri 先生’s guidance. When we're going through exercises together, it's really nice to start thinking more about how potential forms are used, I think without her it wouldn't all come together the same way.

As always, this class with Ruri was so much fun!!! I feel like I am getting better at speaking Japanese, and being able to communicate with Ruri in the language is so enjoyable I can't wait until I am at a higher level 🤗 Not only do I learn Japanese with Ruri, but I also get to learn so much about Japan thanks to her ❣
