Haruna

I have taken over twenty lessons with Haruna, and I must say that she is a professional, knowledgeable, diligent, and capable teacher. I truly appreciate her careful and patient correction of my grammatical errors and pronunciation mistakes. Haruna has helped me to make significant progress in my study of the Japanese language, and although I am still a beginner, I am confident that with her help I will eventually reach proficiency. If you are a serious learner, I highly recommend Haruna’s classes.

Haruna is a great teacher. She is friendly, patient and attentive. I have taken over 20 JLPT preparation lessons with her and intend to continue. In my case, classes have a friendly and relaxed, but also focused atmosphere, and Haruna gauges well if you want to engage in free conversation for a while or continue with whatever it is you might be working through in the textbook. Whether you want to intensively study during the whole lesson, or have a more relaxed style, I think Haruna will adapt well to your preferences. Haruna sends feedback after each lesson with details of vocabulary or kanji that I might have struggled with. And she includes suggestions, advice or encouragement. We speak mostly Japanese during the class, but I think Haruna has a high level of English judging from her wide knowledge of English vocabulary. Thank you for your continued effort Haruna-sensei!

Haruna-sensei was very kind and I appreciated her thorough questions in order to get to know me and my learning goals. Though it was difficult to express myself at times, she listened patiently and asked clarifying questions to make sure she understood me. Haruna-sensei adjusted quickly to my level, and I felt that she was very willing to accommodate my requests for the lesson style. She provided useful information in the chat as well. I would recommend her to anyone wanting to study Japanese!

Today we almost finished another chapter in the TRY! N2 book and I'm close to finishing the vocab for chapter 3 in my N2 vocab book. The homework and books really keep me focused. Haruna sensei always does a great job of explaining vocab and breaking down grammar. Thank you for another great lesson! Since I started taking lessons about a year ago, my co workers have gone from just being impressed I can talk about simple things like the weather, to now just talking to me in Japanese. I can read more documents and participate in more activities. Haruna sensei is a real blessing.

I have enjoyed doing our vocab quizzes recently. I need to make sure to review after to make them stick, but it's been fun. Next week I'm ready to step back into grammar which I have put off for a week or so. Thank you Haruna sensei for always listening to me talk about food and stories from my past! I believe our time spent speaking has been equally valuable in learning how to understand Japanese.
