Ako

Ako is such a wonderful teacher. In every lesson, she adjusts conversation to my level, but also challenges me. She shows patience as I think of ways to express myself in Japanese and provides gentle correction. She comes prepared with new grammar points and exercises to keep each lesson unique. My Japanese has already improved a lot thanks to Ako, and I plan on having many more lessons with her!

Ako is an absolute top tier tutor! I've been with her for about 1.5 years, and thanks to her, I not only passed N2, but am well underway to passing N1! Ako is always prepared with excellently designed activities and worksheets, and is also very flexible with lesson contents and schedule changes. Her original JLPT worksheets are very effective. They have clear explanations of complex grammar (entirely in Japanese!), use real world examples, have a generous variety of kanji and vocab, and often lead to some interesting topics of conversations. She also gives some homework and periodic review worksheets to keep you sharp. Most importantly though, Ako is a genuine delight to talk to! She is both funny and supportive as a teacher, and gives you ample listening and speaking opportunities with plenty of engaging conversation topics. I cannot imagine a better Japanese tutor out there. If you want to pass the JLPT or just improve your Japanese, Ako is the best tutor you could ask for!

Lessons with Ako Sensei are always so fun and engaging! I highly recommend her lessons. Whether it's the conversation course or the grammar course, she is always well prepared. Her JLPT grammar worksheets are so professional that they rival what I've seen in university level language classes (which cost much more!) I learn something new every class that I can use to improve my comprehension and ability to communicate in Japanese. My Japanese friends have even pointed out that my Japanese ability has improved dramatically over the past few months since I've started taking lessons with Ako. さらに一緒に日本語を勉強しましょう！
