I recommend Umuhoza for all levels of Swahili learners. Her wealth of knowledge of different east African cultures/customs adds an extra level of benefits to taking her classes for beginners to advance level learners.

I could you recommend Umuhoza more highly. I learn a lot during her classes AND it is a lot of fun. This must be the best way to learn a language... She leads the class Professionally, and seems to understand very well how to adapt her curriculum to my needs, interests and learning speed. When we talk, it is like I am in Africa already!

Umuhoza Karen is a very good teacher with a happy & calm personality. I had a great time with her teaching me.

If it were possible I would definitely rate Umuhoza Karen much higher. She was very kind and understanding in her approach and always encourages me to keep speaking Swahili. She made the lesson very fun and interactive, and she is very knowledgeable about the Swahili language, she explains clearly and precisely more than what the word means but how to use it properly she is one of the best Swahili teachers out there. I'll definitely be doing more lessons with her, and I have nothing but great things to say about her.

In only a couple of short lessons with Umuhoza I am already able to speak basic sentences. I look forward to continue working with her to become as fluent as possible in kiswahili. Highly recommend her as a language teacher.

Umohoza Karen is an outstanding teacher. Im a teacher myself, so i can be a little bit too picky sometimes, but this has been a truly fullfilling learning experience. No doubt I will continue to learn with her.
