Sorcha

Sorcha is a friendly , knowledgeable and encouraging teacher. As an adult learner , one of my biggest issues is with actually speaking the Irish that I do have . Sorcha politely prompts me to go back to Gaeilge when I slip back into using English. When I make mistakes , Sorcha will gently inform me of the correct structure that I should have used , without making me feel like a fool. It’s a skill that not all teachers have and along with simple , constructive lesson plans and some homework , makes Sorcha a great choice no matter what level your Irish is at. I’d recommend Sorcha as a teacher and I’m sure she’ll help you with your language journey , on top of that you’ll have met a genuinely nice person , it’s a win win really !

First conversation after a three-week break for Christmas and the New Year. Sorcha eased me into it gently and the conversation began to flow naturally quite quickly. I still make basic errors but it is nonetheless very clear that a lot of progress has been made over the months. I recognise that I still have a lot to learn but am very grateful to be a student of such a capable teacher as is Sorcha.

Sarah is an absolutely wonderful teacher to practice conversation in Irish with! I have been practicing with her for a long time, and I highly recommend her.

Another excellent lesson - this year has flown past and it is amazing to me that I have made as much progress in Gaeilge as I have. Sorcha has been instrumental in guiding me through the intricacies of the language in a highly approachable way. No matter how many times I mispronounce a word, she gently and patiently corrects me only for me to do it again in the next sentence or paragraph. Awesome teacher. Go raibh mile maith agat, a Shorcha.
