Yo como profesor
Soy Mohamed, profesor nativo de árabe. Me licencié en periodismo árabe en la Universidad Minufiya de Egipto. Después, estudié para obtener el diploma TEFL y aprender a enseñar mejor el idioma. No sólo examiné métodos de enseñanza del inglés, sino que también experimenté formas de iluminar la cultura del idioma para hablantes no nativos. Trabajé como profesora de inglés en un instituto de Egipto durante casi tres años. Después, trabajé como redactora y traductora educativa para Hotcourses Ltd en el Reino Unido. Escribí más de 200 artículos educativos para ayudar a los estudiantes a aprender idiomas y estudiar en el extranjero. Involucrar a los alumnos en la lengua meta haciéndoles leer, hablar y escuchar vídeos culturales por su autenticidad y representación del habla real, su presentación de los aspectos no verbales del lenguaje y su valor como vehículo cultural para mejorar la capacidad de escucha y comprensión. In addition, I completed one fourteen-hour workshop and one refresher workshop in (AT/OPS) program based on the Dartmouth intensive language model implemented at Fairfield University.

Muhammed is very knowledgeable about Arabic, of course, but also the culture. With other teachers I didn't have a full understanding of the pronunciation, but he focused me on the tough parts (like hamza) and helped me get those down today. Thanks!

Enjoyable lesson with Mohamed after a few weeks away for some travel. We started by briefly discussing my recent trip to Egypt, then we discussed a picture of a city square and used it as the basis for a conversation and practiced giving directions. The we discussed comparatives and superlative adjectives. We ended the lesson by starting to watch a clip from an Egyptian film. I enjoyed the lesson.

I have studied Arabic for quite a while, with a number of different teachers, and I think Prof. Mohamed may be the best teacher I've met so far. It is evident that he puts time into preparing for each lesson and he always arrives equipped with a list of lesson-specific questions for us to discuss. I think this style of teaching is really great for independent learners, who might otherwise struggle to find a direction or theme for each class.
