It was great catching up with you! We talked about our lives and how they’ve changed, I’ve met a new girlfriend and begun volunteering at an ESL class. We discussed 時間帯, it suddenly popped into my head from the conversation we’d been having and I forgot the meaning! Miki Sensei, it was a pleasure talking to you!

We talked about my adventures in making writing friends here in Austin, and how my American friend who lives in Japan gets ひとつ and ふたつ mixed up even after living there for 10+ years. We kind of had a mix up about the friend who lives in Japan vs the writers here, but we figured it out. It was fun trying to figure out how to communicate that specific difference. And, she taught me a new word 食料品（しょくりょうひん）for groceries, and 乗り物 for automobiles! And a specific phrase なになに　を1つの単語で言うと、なんですか？ very handy phrase! Thanks so much Miki Sensei!
