Giannis Sababa

Giannis is an excellent professor. It’s one thing to speak Greek, but Giannis knows how to teach it. I’ve had many teachers in the past in all sorts of endeavors: nursing, classical guitar, and voice lessons. I’ve also taught new nursing students so I know that teaching in itself is much like an art or talent - to be able to transmit the material to the student with maximum efficacy. Giannis knows how to do this. He started teaching me by helping conjugate verbs so I can begin to build basic sentence structure. I barely knew anything when I started with Giannis, but after only 5-6 lessons I am able to carry a very basic conversation- using some complex verbs in the present, past, and future tense. I am also a very driven student and study many hours a day in my free time, listening to Greek music, reading books written in Greek, and attending the Greek Orthodox Church. Having a tutor helps me stay organized, on task, and accountable. I am lucky to have found Giannis. Go Giannis!

good teacher, will continue lessons

I just had my first introductory class with Professor Giannis, and it was fantastic! We went over the Greek alphabet and pronunciation, which was incredibly helpful. He is very patient and an excellent teacher. I’m excited to continue learning and can’t wait for the next lesson!
