I see myself as a patient and calm teacher. I believe it’s important that you feel comfortable making mistakes because that’s how you learn the most. There were problems with his internet connection throughout, leading to pauses, breaks, etc., which disrupted the rhythm of the lesson. He also did not seem particularly well prepared. The questions he asked were somewhat generic, extending from what I said, and the questions only seemed to emerge after a pause. I know it was just a trial lesson, so it is difficult to anticipate my level, etc., but the conversation felt stilted and directionless, and my other teachers on italki have seemed better prepared and were more engaging and energetic.
