Emika

I had a trial lesson with Emika. She is very proactive and messaged me beforehand the lesson about where I am at with my Japanese studies and what resources I use to study. She is very organised and has a structured lesson plan with slides where she helped me improve my pronounciation and introduced adjectives. Highly reccommend booking in with Emika!

Emika-san is really patient and kind, and it is a pleasure to be her student! Her lessons are engaging and super helpful for practicing grammar and sentence structures. I feel comfortable speaking Japanese with her even when I make mistakes because I know Emika-san will give me feedback and encouragement.

Today I learned a different way to use ましょう form. Emika sensei was good at explaining though how to use it in a form of a request versus doing something together.

I've been taking lessons with Emika-sensei for a while now, and I have to say she is one of the best teachers on iTalki! She's excellent at the key things that make a teacher good: speaking slowly and clearly, explaining things in an understandable way, facilitating the conversation, and providing feedback on the most natural ways to say things. But more than that, I just find our conversations to be really FUN! That makes me look forward to our lessons, and it never feels like "work". She's just a really genuine person and takes an interest in our conversations. I've been improving so much and I'd highly recommend Emika-sensei to anyone who is serious about, or just wants to have fun, learning!

Had another great session with Emika sensei. I’m at the point in the class where it’s going over more conjugation which has been a little difficult for me but Emika sensei has been patient. She encourages me to remember vocab first before telling me what I’ve forgotten which helps me recall things. Highly recommended.
