I'm Janka from Czechia and I love learning and teaching languages. I have studied German and Latin Philology, worked as a teaching librarian and I'm also a life coach. I love music and dancing and my big dream is to write a book.

I have 15 years of teaching experience in a variety of settings: group and individual lessons, working with students ranging from young children to a 70-year-old retiree, in both language schools and universities. I have taught German, Latin, phonetics, German phonology, and information literacy. What I enjoy most about teaching is getting to know my students and finding the best way for them to learn a language so they can truly use it as a tool. I believe that the most important role of a teacher is to spark enthusiasm in their students.

I love using the direct method in Latin, especially for people who learn for fun. That means we start speaking Latin from the very beginning and don't need to translate into the mother language. This method works great for most people, and it is fun! Of course, if you want to understand the grammar more deeply or need to focus on a specific vocabulary (e.g., medical), I can help you too.
