I am an Irish polyglot, literature fanatic, writer and educator! Having grown up in a rural area, I had to find my own way to entertain myself: this led me to learning world languages online. By the age of 18 I spoke 4 languages fluently without leaving my home town. As a result, I thoroughly understand the trials and tribulations of online education. I later studied Russian and German literature and language at the University of Cambridge, before teaching and studying in Russia and in China. I hope to be your perfect teacher!

Yo como profesor
I first began teaching during my exchange year in Russia. I worked for 5 months as a conversational English teacher, designing individual and group lessons in Krasnodar I also participated in summer camps and online English programmes.
Upon graduation, I moved to China. Here I gained a teaching certificate, alongside 6 months of teaching experience at an adult training centre. For two years I worked as an IB English Language and Literature Teacher and foreign languages tutor (Russian, German, French) at East China Normal University Bilingual School in Shanghai.

My teaching style can be described as student-focused, and tailor-made. They make substantial use of guided correction and 'scaffolded' creative projects. As a learner myself, i know that good lessons should include at least a 60%-40% ratio of student to teacher interaction. In the ideal situation, the educator almost 'tricks' the student into teaching themselves, by ensuring student-led learning.

Licenciatura/Grado - Modern and Medieval LanguagesI studied German and Russian within the framework of Modern and Medieval Languages. This included translation from and into these languages; as well as the study of the literature, history and culture of the respective countries. I graduated with a first class degree, including an 'outstanding' performance mark in my final year oral exam.

English Conversation TeacherDuring my first semester studying on exchange in Krasnodar, I worked every weekend and several evenings a week as an English language coach. I developed my knowledge of the individual challenges facing Russian speakers, and also prepared all of my own course materials.

IB English, French & Literature TeacherI began working at this high school in February 2017 and finished in July 2018 <br/>During this time I worked full-time as an IB English B and French Ab-intio teacher. I have also given extracurricular courses in Russian and German. 这是孩子的第5次课，Danie是个超级棒的老师。10岁的孩子学德语，Daniel老师教的非常用心，侧重训练听说，不是教哑巴语言，很有教学方法，不是照课本教材千人一面教课，。Japan的词重音也注意到孩子的错误，再三去提醒纠正，小细节反映出老师的负责与严谨的语言学习态度。一定要点赞。其他平台也在上课，这是孩子遇到的最负责最有方法的老师。孩子超喜欢。保持了对这个语言的兴趣，就已经达到了学好这门语言的3分之一吧！

Great lessons with superb lesson material that is tailored to the student. Since he speaks 9 languages he is able to very well explain how to pronounce the words. I learned a lot in 5 lessons, will definitely do more lessons with Daniel. Danke!

I like our classes, they are helpful, effective and we study the language step by step. German is a quite complicated language however Daniel explains everything at a normal speed and with patience (I had lessons with a teacher who was too fast).
He is very kind and nice. I can recommend him as a great teacher :)

Отличный профессиональный преподаватель. Уроки познавательные не только со стороны формального обучения: грамматика, лексика, словообразование, произношение и т.д., но можно также познакомится также с культурологией стран:) Русскоговорящим ученикам огромный плюс - преподаватель, родным языком, которого является английский, очень хорошо говорит также на русском (не будет проблем с объяснением). Опыт обучения у меня - более 3 недель:)
