Thuý

Thuy is an incredibly gifted teacher. She always knows how to help me advance in my study of Vietnamese and she is very, very patient! Lessons with Thuy are always fun and interesting. She is the best teacher and also a very kind and generous person.

This was another terrific lesson with lots of conversation. Thank you so much for all of the time you take to help me learn and improve my speaking.

We were able to cover a wide range of topics and vocabulary. I find the conversation sessions with Thúy to be very helpful in giving me a chance to use the Vietnamese I learned in new useful ways. We also spent some time talking about the customs of festivals in Vietnam.

Thúy has helped me study Vietnamese for 8 months now. I started out only knowing “Xin chào” and “Cảm ơn”, and have now made a trip to Hanoi where I held basic conversations with native speakers. Thúy provides a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy for you to say “I don’t understand this, can you explain it?” Especially with the tones, where I felt embarrassed by how many times I had to practice, but she was always patient and helped me get it right. And she continues to correct me with pronunciation each lesson! You can’t learn a language in only a few hours each week, so you have to practice on your own outside of class, and Thúy recommended great resources to help me in studying Vietnamese outside of our class time.

another fun lesson! today we talked about the terrible flooding in Vietnam happening at the moment. thankfully chi Thuy is okay and safe. we also talked about tones being very important in the Vietnamese language

As usual, Ms. Thuy was fantastic. She is supportive and patient, and really focuses on pronunciation, which is my goal. She never lets me feel frustrated; we simply correct my mistake and move on.
